I am a student and work Kleeneze on a part time basis whilst studying… My partner Will joined my business shortly after and helps with the business he is soon to go into the army and as this business is flexible it will work very well indeed around his leave. I knew the business worked because my mum Sue Marshall and her partner Bob Dalton have been doing Kleeneze for over 10 years now… and as a family we have all benefited from the high income they earn… Initially I wasn’t over keen to start Kleeneze when mum suggested that I joined so I could earn some extra money… I knew that I did eventually want a business of my own which is why I have been doing business studies but somehow putting out catalogues didn’t sound exciting enough so I said that I would see how it goes.. Mum and Bob have helped with my teambuilding and one of my team members also came into our business from the advert in my catalogue and he is also building a team of distributors. Now that I realise that there is so much more to this business and that the income potential is phenomenal I have decided that when I leave college in June 2009 I am going to concentrate on building our Kleeneze Business. Our Kleeneze income has also enabled me to buy brand new VW Polo.Having just reached the gold distributor level in P2 2009 and our 4wkly cheque was £1,516.00 I am looking forward to building this business to a higher level. I was diagnosed with Chronic Fatigue Syndrome about 5 years ago. At the time I had a very good job as a Secretary but after several long spells of illness, I lost my job.I joined Kleeneze about four years ago, not knowing much about the Company or even had any interest. I actually joined as I had to find some way of regular exercise for the medical condition that I have.I had a major operation on my wrist in 2006 and was in plaster for six weeks. With the help of my family, I still retailed £800 that period. In March of last year I had a second operation on my wrist and could not drive for two weeks. I used to set off with my trolley and my arm in a sling and still managed to retail £1800 in that period! I have gradually built a database of almost 1000 customers and it has been worth taking the time to build the business at my own pace.My cheques each month are regularly between £900 and £1100 per month, which isn’t bad for something that was just supposed to give me regular exercise. My goals have now been set and I aim to retail £1,000 per week and build a team.I have also now taken on a new task of sponsoring people into the business and I hope that my story will give people the encouragement to join this fantastic business.I have recently recruited 7 local distributors and are all doing fantastically well. Avon, the cosmetics giant, is launching a major campaign to recruit an army of modern-day "Avon ladies" from among frustrated graduates.
"There is a huge opportunity to promote direct selling to graduates and indeed other people during the economic downturn," said Anna Segatti, president of Avon UK. "Self-employment is a really viable earnings option for many people."
Kleeneze, which uses agents to distribute catalogues door to door and collect orders, has reported a 188% rise in applications from students and graduates. Kayleigh Pace, a 21-year-old drama graduate from Walsall, said her latest pay cheque was for £196.99, which worked out at £13 an hour. Her parents also work for the company, earning £30,000 a year between them.
Meanwhile the Federation of Small Businesses (FSB) has urged ministers to create 5,000 new internship placements. It found that one in five small firms would take on a graduate.
John Wright, the federation's chair, said: "Graduate unemployment is set to soar to unprecedented levels this year as businesses struggle to make ends meet and cut back on recruiting university leavers.
"However, in a graduate internship scheme graduates can offer key skills to help businesses move forward, while at the same time ensuring they are learning new skills and not unemployed at a crucial time in their careers."
